During a recent foray to The Maker's Market in Didsbury (more on that soon!) I decided it was time to swap some art round... so banged my way through all of the stalls of fantastic illustrators! Between mouthfuls of cake, I was drawn to Sophie Cunningham's detailed creatures, and picked up a couple of cards, planning to frame one and pop the other into the "nice card drawer". I also met Jon Turner in person, after admiring his work on Etsy for some time. His small photo sized prints are just perfect if you don't have many pennies or much space. I also know someone soon to move house, so took advantage of some lovely uncoloured seconds prints on vintage dictionary pages! In a few months, there will no doubt be some new images in the frames, and the current ones will be popped into the art drawer, probably to return to the wall later in the year.
Finding a multi-aperture frame is quite easy, if there isn't an Ikea or Wilko near you, you'll find cheap ones online and even in larger supermarkets with a homeware section. You can swap the art with the seasons, mix in your own photos, display beautiful birthday cards too nice to recycle, make little changes or swap over all the images in one go - and best of all, your affordable little gems show your support for all of the makers and designers that brighten your day, and now your home too.
