A year of bigging up independents! #loveindiefriday2017

​No New Year resolutions (because they are easily broken by dint of being made mainly from duty) but how about a simple challenge for 2017?
One that champions independent makers and retailers?
​And lasts all year?...

Each Friday through 2017 I’ll be sharing a picture on social media shouting about something I have worn, used or consumed that week, which has been made by an indie designer maker, or bought from an indie retailer.

I'll be tagging #indiefriday2017, so you’ll be able to find my weekly picture even if you don't follow me (aahh, go on, give me a follow)

This idea was sparked by a fab lady called Sharon. Her personal #frockonfriday challenge has seen Sharon showcase a fabulous series of dresses, often photographed in entertaining ways, and I pondered how I might similarly challenge myself in a fun way. Tidying up my array of earrings, I realised how much jewellery I own is from wonderful independent designers, and decided to broaden my options to include some of the great food, drink and artists I love. I'll make sure each week I wear, use, buy, eat, drink in a way that supports at least one independent - then share the best on Friday!
