![]() You may not think of yourself as an "accessories" person, with jewellery and other adornments not a part of your day to day. There's one thing which may surprise you though, being wearable in so many different ways, and in some cases very functional - The Stick Pin! A long pin with a lump at the end has been a piece of human clothing since we started trying to get two animal skins to stay put, starting with bone and antler, and eventually moving to metal, (with those of a higher class taking the chance to show off, of course, with decoration) As buttons, toggles, lacing and comparatively recently the zip appeared, the pin has been relegated, but oh, it can still be useful, and a chance to show off too! Stick it on your jumperThe simplest thing you can do with a stick pin is just pin it on your jumper, fleece, cardigan, exactly as you might do a badge or lapel pin. They are especially useful if you have an open front kint you want to close up, just overlap the edges and pin through. The same goes with loose necked knitwear, when you want a little extra warmth from your cowel neck.

The first recorded mention of the evil eye was way back about 5,000 years ago, written in cuneiform on clay tablets by the Mesopotamian. The idea of a curse cast by a malevolent glare found its way into Jewish, Christian and Muslim cultures as well as Buddhist and Hindu societies - It's a pretty simple concept.
