I've changed my mind about Valentine's Day

I'll be honest, for a long time I have been a bit anti-Valentine's Day, as I think that a well meant small gesture says a lot more than a commercially inspired large gesture. I'd sooner get a bag of "they're on offer and I know you like them" doughnuts than a box of "I had a panic in the supermarket on my way home" over priced chocolates.

That said, there's an amazing range of cards and gifts out there now from the pink and fluffy to the rude or zombie, so as folks have expanded the boundaries of what you can give on Valentine's Day, I'm a bit more in love with it...

Your Valentine can now reflect the interests and humour of your recipient, or your relationship - yes, there's still a debate to be had about it being a commercial day that puts a lot of stress on people - but as what's available becomes more varied, use it as a chance to get something and give it when you want to, or give it to a mate, or just treat yourself. (seriously, that mini dinosaur would be great on my computer monitor...)
