Reasons to be cheerful! It's a dark and chilly time of year, and before the Agh of Christmas malarkey, and the sort of enforced "Year in Review" almost everyone does, I figured now is an excellent time to look at some things to celebrate from the year - much of which you've probably had a hand in dear reader! 1. I said "Fuck it" more, and wow it worked. What does that mean? It's not as flippant as it sounds, but I wanted to be braver than usual, not overthink or dissuade myself from new things. New things like... 2. In 2021 I've launched three product ranges (and a half, with my November product drop), using wholly new techniques, or materials, or concepts, had lovely feedback, and got increasingly organised and professional feeling with the launches themselves. 3. That professional feeling thing? I am LOVING using Canva to create swish looking graphic designs and videos. Some of those new ranges haven't sold as well as I'd like, but I'm celebrating that I feel smug about the promo I created for them, and that I've Learnt New Skills. 4. I'm now at over 400 sales on Etsy! 🎉 5. Over 1000 followers on Twitter 🎊 Those numbers may not sound like a lot to some folks, but hey, these are milestones for my journey! 6. I'm an Etsy Star Seller! Now this is a bit of a strange thing, as Etsy measures various things about my shop over a three month period, and if I hit those targets I get lauded as a good, reliable, customer pleasing seller. Many Etsy sellers find the choices of metrics a bit boggling, and a lot of customers don't yet have a clue about what this is. But, I got a star, and am easily pleased. Isn't it shiny and a nice purple colour? There are other wee hurrahs too, and many personal life ones, but these are the cheering items bubbling at the top of my brain right now. I also want to thank you for following, or sharing, or buying, or commenting, or subscribing, as all of your actions feed into the cheerful machine.
You might be pleasantly surprised if you look back at your own year and have a quick pick of reasons to be cheerful. Big, small, tiny, your own decisions or just the things happening around you, it's your life, your reasons!

Well done on that star! I've given up any hope as I sell enough art to hit the £ cap, but not to hit the quantity. Totally feel like their grading system penalises so mnay sellers in different ways. I don't want to spend any more time on hard sell, I'm happy with what I do, and I seem to do well without a star, people like my work and trust the reviews! Which is my reason to celebrate, I get people who love my work and keep coming back to buy more, or send friends and family to me.
