This may be an end to Free P&P...

Royal Mail prices have gone up from the start of January, which means some of my items maaaaay soon no longer be Free UK P&P.

In March 2019 a large first class stamp was £1.09, then £1.15 in March 2020. Now in January 2021 it's £1.29. It may not sound like a lot to suck up, but you'd be surprised how each of those "little" changes adds up to really alter what it costs my business.

I have a cunning structure behind my prices, packaging and postage, so will take a week or two to plan, and let you know if changes will be coming in February. My January sale may now be even more appealing, as you might save not only on the items, but also on the post cost 😒😘

The state of PJ HQ during Covid-19 2021

As a friend has joked, in the UK we have had Lockdown, Lockdown 2: Electric Boogaloo, and now it's Once, twice, three times a Lockdown.

March 2020 I popped out an update on how PJ is handling things, and it seems right to give you all another update, as things have changed!

(Don't mind the picture of me dressed as a pirate, I wanted to put a fun image here to start things off, and well, fancy dress Fridays, right?)

Still going - the 2021 version

Perfidious Jewellery is still going, still accepting and sending out orders, and still taking commissions.

I'm back to worldwide delivery - There are some delays and I've altered my Etsy delivery times to help manage expectations, but some items are taking longer. A little patience, it will get to you!
Made to order items with colour choices have slightly extended processing times. Although I am stocked up on parts, if I do need to order anything from my suppliers, it may take longer than usual.

What about precautions?

My partner and I are both working from home (yay for a home office and home studio), and the handful of occassions I've needed to go to my Other Place of Work, health and safety is so stringent there it's almost annoying!
We've been very cautious personally as a household (There's a difference between if it's legal to do a thing, and if it's actually safe and smart to do it... ) We have been quite hunkered down, barring a couple of small careful adventures (which have hugely helped my mental health).
As well as washing my hands regularly, I also do so specifically before making or packing your orders.
Post runs are a safe part of my daily exercise walk, as I am stocked up on stamps and can print off postage. Your order is either droppped in a post box in my village, or larger or international orders are pre-paid and walked to my little local Post Office to have proof of postage stamped.

All this may change

Of course, things may change... There may be new data, unexpected delays, bleddy Brexit bugger-ups, illness for myself or a loved one...

I'll let you know as soon as things shift in any dramatic way, and the best way to be kept in the loop is to join my newsletter gang (where you get a couple of emails a month, discount codes, special offers....)

Remember, this is a really mixed time, veering from utter shite to "it's nice to have more me time" to feeling lonely to feeling productive. It's all valid to feel as it comes and goes. I honestly value all your support, be it likes, comments, shares, purchases, as it helps me feel connected, and like I can (it still amazes me) bring joy to people with what I make.
