There are many ways to wear a hidden message in jewellery, from writing inside a ring or locket, through to coded messages like beads arranged in Morse code patterns. But something truly beautiful, and very interesting to play with, is using grapheme-colour synesthesia. You don't know what synesthesia is? It's where someone experiences strong secondary sensations or associations in response to a stimulus. It might be seeing colours when reading numbers, or having a taste in their mouth when hearing a certain word. Precisely what they experience varies from person to person .
How does that make for a hidden message though?

I love making jewellery with wings as a motif, and they are often popular on my stand when selling in person, but for some reason, they just aren't as popular on my Etsy store. (*Hits all of the keyword and SEO with a stick, and gives up*) So I'm trying out my first Etsy sale with their new snazzy "click buttons and it happens!" function! These six pieces will each have a whopping 20% off from September 27th to October 27th, so you can treat yourself, or grab an early Christmas present for someone. Because a sale can easily be seen on Etsy, and everyone likes a discount, I expect these to go quickly...
Have you ever had a moment where as a creative person you see something and think "I HAVE to make something with THAT!"? I'm guessing you have, and also that you have then taken 'That' home, stared at it, wondered what to do next, and cursed your weak will-power...
Yes, I have my share of "I'm sure I'll use this one day..." things sat in boxes, but sometimes, your creative gut knows when something is right for you. |
