"I am exhausted from living up to your expectations." OK, I may not be exhausted, but recreating the stunning masquerade ball jewellery worn by Sarah in the film Labyrinth was certainly quite a challenge!
Happily, it did very much live up to the expectations of Ben and Alicia, who had requested the pieces. So how did I create these surprisingly complex earrings and necklace? I'm so very proud, I'm going to share a bit of behind the scenes, how it was made - Prepare for double sided tape, complex line diagrams, and sparkle!

I recently treated myself to some "stamps" washi tape from a favourite illustrator of mine, Jon Turner (www.thisisjonturner.com) and when I commented online that I might turn some into jewellery, he asked if I'd share how. So... How do you make really easy square or rectangle earrings from your favourite stickers, pretty washi tape, or, well, anything papery? This is a really easy make, not something to last through the ages, but great for being able to wear something you love! So if you want to use what you probabaly already have at home, to make quick, no mess accessories (no resin, no varnish, no layers of glue to dry) this is perfect for you.
I am quite the fan of a hot chocolate, or good coffee (hello 200 Degrees of Nottingham) but there is just something grand about tea - The sheer variety, and the relaxing process of stopping to "brew up", especially when it's a good loose leaf tea.
The Perfidious Jewellery teapot range has now expanded to become a Tea Lover range, because there's more to tea than teapots, and I had some tea leaf concepts I really wanted to realise. |
