Can I get a virtual hurrah from all the folks who believe you are never too old for dress up or Cosplay? This isn't jewellery or small business related, but it is creative, and I want to share this here as I have a bit of a platform, to encourage - do what brings you joy. I'm 41, and a recent day out confirmed that I don't plan to stop any time soon! I've been thinking about this over a few weeks since I was at a Dr Who event in Aldbourne. My husband, although not a 'look at me' person, is a Very Big Dr Who fan, so dug out an old jacket and gloves to be The Master, and I pulled a Sarah Jane outfit together from a market and charity shops . We arrived to find the majority were in civvies, but gradually there were folks from 20's to late 50+ pottering about in various degrees of Dr Who costume (and a few kids too!). ... gradually there were folks from 20's to late 50+ pottering about in various degrees of Dr Who costume (and a few kids too!) Were some people younger or older than the characters they chose? Yes. Physically different to the actor? Yes. Did it matter? NO! Cosplayers and t-shirt wearers alike were complementing, asking who made what, where things were bought from, taking joy in spotting specific details. There was no shade cast on "I just googled sacrificial robe" vs "I researched and made this myself", no judgement that on a warm day concessions were made, like one Tom Baker in coat, hat, scarf and shorts. Yes, some areas of cosplay can be cliquey, can feel critical about quality, but overall it's people with the same interests expressing their passion together, and the vast majority of participants and bystanders appreciate the intent and feed into your enthusiasm. A few people I chatted to had decided for the first time to cosplay, justifying it to themselves with "I don't do this, but as it's the final event..." Day at Devil's End really cemented for me that you're never too old to dress up or cosplay. A few people I chatted to had decided for the first time to cosplay, justifying it to themselves with "I don't do this, but as it's the final event..." and, delighted that their efforts were appreciated, that they hadn't felt embarrassed, were planning to go to future conventions dressed up. One day taking that plunge, and they felt they'd added to a positive atmosphere. Life is too short to not express what brings you joy, and to bring joy into the world by doing so - Don't be afraid to share your love of a thing by dressing up as it. A neat and precise summary that cosplay, at whatever age and whatever level, is a GOOD thing. Life is short, happiness can be fleeting, but if celebrating what you love by dressing up makes you happy then DO IT!

Hear hear Philip! It does no harm and spreads joy, so why not? Too many things give people the fear of being embarrassed, or "getting it wrong", which can both be tough to hurdle, but after that first time you can at least say that you did it.

Many homework on the continual hunt along with offstage on the road to winning. Definitely not attached, simple to-fall as a result of wayside; And not investigation, afterward into a path travel toward the black.
