It's funny how we start to look back as Winter and Christmas come round, and a few months ago I was asked to revisit an old design, which got me reflecting even more. So, just in time for stocking fillers and sparkling outfits - two new ranges are now available!
I was taught to sew by a grandmother (I've had many) and my mum. Years later, I loved picking out vintage buttons, adding the perfect ribbon, and sewing them into medals and rosettes. Creative ideas move on though, and eventually I donated my remaining couple of brooches to a Steampunk event as prizes. Cue instantly being asked if I could make more for a future event! I delved for the first time into my inherited button box, a nostalgic mix from the sewing boxes of two grandmothers and mumsy. It was such a delight, I kept picking and stitching, and soon made more than I needed for the event. You can now pick from these cheery dots and dashes of colour, perfect for rewarding good deeds! The beautiful old buttons reminded me of the old beads I have, culled from broken or unwanted jewellery. I've become a bit of a repository for people not sure what else to do with their accessories, and once the odd earrings or unfashionable bracelets are stripped down, I'm often left with beads of uncertain purpose. Wanting to give these beads new life, and struggling to create symmetrical pieces, I realised that the joy was in their oddness, their mismatched roots. So gem stacks were born, some beads instantly calling to each other, others taking a surprising amount of time, trial and error to find a perfect balance of shape, colour, pattern. Contemporary design, combining vintage and new, simple yet eyecatching necklaces. Of course there are still plenty of other designs to pick from, including my ever useful stick pins (an accessory that's genuinely multi-functional as well as great looking) so pick up something now, and give someone a little Perfidious sparkle for Christmas.

Thanks for the idea Francesca! I do use memory wire sometimes which I love as there are no clasps to do up. I may try converting this design idea across.
