I've been scarily organised, and already have 12 events planned for myself and my stall in 2016! I don't know what I'm having for dinner tonight, but I know where I'm taking my jewellery and art on December 10th...
Seeing handmade goods at an event is fantastic, as you can browse in person, see the quality, test if something suits you, and chat face to face with the mind and maker behind them. As I often work on a new piece while at an event, you can also get an insight into some of my jewellery making techniques.
My three regular haunts will be bellydancing, fantasy battles, and the local church hall... A bit of a strange mix... So, which do you fancy?...
Sahara Nights is a regular bellydance event held in Nottingham, and a group called the Nottingham Dance Collective also hold fantastic evenings of dance.
Not only do you get to see great performances, you can also give it a go, and browse a couple of costume and jewellery stalls. Plus, I'm often in fancy dress, so come and have a giggle.
Empire Live Role Play
Imagine over a 1000 people playing mass make-believe together, in a detailed fantasy setting, with amazing costumes, special effects, and a small village of food, drink and stalls.
If that sounds like your thing, and you take part in the weekend, drop by the As If By Magic stall and find my jewellery in stock there.
A lovely place, and easy to get to from Derby, Nottingham and Leicester, Castle Donington is a pretty trove of independent shops to explore.
Antiques, an art gallery, plenty of goodies for your home, fantastic beers, and every month the Farmer's Market and Crafts and Gift Fair both take place on the same weekend.
All I have to do now is make sure I don't wear my renaissance dress to the bellydance event, or start to bellydance in the middle of the church hall!
If you want to keep on top of where you can find me to browse and buy in person, check out my events page, and also follow me on facebook, twitter and instagram to make sure you don't miss out.
